The Play Lab believes in the power of community and we rely on the kindness and generosity of the people who help nurture our mission of belonging like the Oak Park Public Library and all of its brilliant staff. Here, Ms. Juanta Griffin, OPPL's Multi-Cultural Coordinator captivates our explorers with a rendition of Where The Wild Things Are during a Family Picnic in the Park.
Grownups, Grands, Aunts, Uncles, & Friends , all are welcome in the Play Lab
When we do it for the culture, we're gonna do it big. And if it's a Play Lab event, you'd better believe the whole neighborhood is invited. Kuumba Kids dancers pose outside the Lab on Juneteenth
Knowing who the helpers are in your environment is a way that the Play Lab extends the pathway to belonging with our children. It is through positive relationships with adults that children learn that their thoughts, actions, and voice have a place in this world and that it is valuable.
Collaborating with other quality care providers in our village is a way that we stretch belonging outside of our gates. Our explorers get to meet other children in the neighborhood, spend the day with them and enjoy experiences like the magic show pictures above,
Our organization is committed to improving the lives of every child. With your support, we can make a collective impact, starting with the children, extending to their families, caregivers and the beyond. Join us today!
